Bodily Functions
Directed by: Adrian Pikios
Released: August 2000
Preview The first time I saw this movie, I fell in love with it straight away, and it now possibly stands as my favorite movie ever. Adrian's amazing epic about the lives of bacteria inside a human body, and how they deal with virus's and infection. The movie is made entirely out of polygons - even the characters - which at the time of release was unheard of. The characters also being another masterpiece in this movie. Making each character allowed Pikios to gave them expressions (e.g. fear, rejoice etc.), this helped the movie gain an almost 'real' cinematic feel. The soundtrack Adrian used fits with the movie perfectly. Symbols clash at times of joy, where as drums boom at times of terror. The movie actually becomes obscenely emotionally involving, and towards the end, I found that I could actually feel my throat go hard. How many other movies can do that? This is one movie which no collection should be without. A truly stunning movie which should be downloaded immediately! Or else.

Demon at Chris and Will's HQ, The
Directed by: Adrian Pikios
Released: April 2000
Preview This is a very old movie from our friend Adrian Pikios. A sort of response to an old prank Will Maltby and Chris Wells played. Basically, Adrian while watching a fake trailer to Diabolical Delightment, is so enraged by the prank, he transforms into a demon and sets out to kill Chris and Will. Will Will (hawhaw) be able to stop the Demon, or will he perish. Watch to find out! Old outdated animations, average sound, and an abrupt ending, but in those days, pretty nifty!

Fast Chain Movie
Directed by: Adrian Pikios, Brad Ross, Will Maltby
Released: December 2002
Preview Maltby came up with the idea of a 'fast chain moive' when bored one day many moons ago. The idea is just the same as a normal chain movie passed around directors, but done in the space of a few hours. Maltby got Brad and Adrian interested over ICQ. Each director had just 5 mins to do whatever we could (however crap) and then pass it on to the next person. For the larger part it works very well, it isn't until Adrian's part that things start to change. It is obvious that Adrian took far longer than was allowed for his part. It's funny to watch though and there is the patented 'Maltby randomness' feel to it all. It's just a fun bit of viewing. I remember there also being talk about this being 'polished' up and given a proper release, but for whatever reasons, it never happened. Review by Will Cheyney.

Myth (unfinished)
Directed by: Adrian Pikios
Released: October 1999
Preview This would be been one of Adrian's 'big' movie's if had he actually finished it. As it stands though, it's pretty good anyway. The animation is a little sketchy in some places - basic and quirky; however, the plot, pace and action help it all along and make this a very enjoyable movie. The movies action scenes are great, and there are references to some Hollywood movies, all sci-fi, such as, Star Wars and Starship Troopers (just the one's I picked up on). This would be an all time classic if it was completed, and I sequel wouldn't go amiss either. The animation today does seem a little outdated, but the movie is host to a couple of fairly impressive scenes (see screenshot). A definite download.

Rebirth of 3dmm
Directed by: Adrian Pikios
Released: December 2000
Preview As we have come to expect, another amazing movie by Pikios. The film is heavily built on emotions, based around a situation where the entire world faces destruction, due to a huge meteor crashing towards Earth. The movie is music driven, meaning there's just music playing and no sfx or voices used throughout - but it just works so well. The music fits perfectly, and creates an atmosphere which would probably be impossible to gain by using voices. The scenery is, like most of Adrian's movie, good, and nicely detailed, and the effects are simply fantastic. Fireball's, meteors and come burning through the atmosphere, and the movie does genuinely become emotionally involving. The moving camera angles and general feel of the movie is smooth and clean. Download immediately! - another example of how 3dmm movies should be. Review by Will Cheyney.

One of the most startingly human movies made in 3dmm, Pikios shows us the eventual demise of a community loved by many, as all anyone can do is watch. The scenery in this movie isn't the best, but it doesn't have to be, everything is portrayed just as it should be. Animation is great, as always by Pikios, but the real gem in the movie is the emotion. People stop skating, fishing, or whatever, and just watch in horror as the world they know crumbles. A drunk guy in a bar smashes the TV. People cuddle up closer, waiting for the end. Pikios himself has tears running down his face, watching it all from some airport. A while ago, I expressed wonder about the symbolism of this movie, and was told "It's just about meteors hitting things." What? The movie is called Rebirth of 3dmm! Hover the costume changer over nearly every single actor in the movie, and it tells you which fucking community member they are! This is clearly about the death of the 3dmm Community, which I suppose makes the title slightly ironic. It works very well, and adds a slightly human side to the community. Maltby and Ward lay back in a chair, calmly accepting their fate. Brad Ross, Matt Ford, and Steve Astill are all fishing, and as the meteors appear they stare up at the sky in wonder. This movie is like War of the Worlds in that it isn't about the end, it's about how people react to it, and in that aspect, it works perfectly. I'm not sure quite what's going on at the end. Are they in heaven? Did they survive? Whatever the answer, it's just not important, as Pikios has shown us exactly what he wanted us to see. Review by Tom Bown.

Redwampa Meets Pikios
Directed by: Adrian Pikios, Redwampa
Released: September 2002
Preview Tragically, this is and never will be finished. This is probably the most magical, emotional and moving movie experience ever created in 3dmm. Something that only Redwampa and Pikios could create in collaboration. It's these feelings that make this movie so unique. You FEEL involved. You FEEL attached. You FEEL emotion. Everything is superb. The music, animation, characters, scenery, everything. If only it could have been finished, because the way this was going, it could have been up there in the best 3 Movie Maker movies ever. Even if it is unfinished this is unmissable - when it ends, you'll feel as if you are about to cry. Spellbinding.

Showdown, The
Directed by: Adrian Pikios, Redwampa
Released: March 2001
Preview Starting off from Will Maltby's "Bulletin Board Vigilante" ended (which you might want to watch before this), comes this stunning epic movie from Adrian Pikios and Redwampa. It explodes into something excellent from the initial outset. As you would expect from Pikios and Redwampa, emotion is what they want you to feel; the deliberate lack of sound effects increases the emotional impact, aided by the strong character base and dramatic music. It's when you watch movies like these, that you feel proud - honored even - that you belong to a community such as the 3D Movie Making one. It's breathtakingly moving and a damn good watch that you most certainly don't wanna miss.
