3dmm Christmas Tale, A
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: December 2000
Preview A Christmas movie is a definite winner, besides the fact that it stars Martin. It showcases a very good rhyme throughout the movie, plus an entertaining story and scenes. Sweet 'Night Before Christmas'-style tale with some great appearances from community members and an unexpected guest. Funny too, with pleasing animation. Final Verdict: Filled with the Christmas spirit.

Amazingly Pointless Adventures of Gustave, The
Directed by: Will BR
Released: September 2001
Preview Heh. The first in an action/comedy series of shorts, and really, the first complete, decent movie from Will! This episode, titled 'Jail Break' shows how Gustave breaks out of jail (why he has been imprisoned we don't know). The scenery and animation throughout is nice - there's even some moving camera. Final verdict: nice movie short from Will BR which is worth the download. Look out for future episodes.

Baked Goods 1
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: December 2000
Preview At long last the first episode is here! Baked Goods is a 3dmm community talkshow with skits, interviews and segments. Now for some ass kis-err, I mean truth-telling! Brad has captured the feel of talk-shows perfectly. From the visually enjoyable entrance of Matt, Brad and Steven, the mood was set for laughs. The show\'s set is not amazingly complex but it does look good and fits the purpose. Funny (and interesting) interviews feature scenes from one of that director\'s movies while the interview voiceovers play as well as the entertaining \'Terry\' sketch, Cool3dmmshit.com announcement and more. The show ends with an amusing song by Matt McGowan. Overall then, this show is great. More skits in the future would improve it, plus Bryn needs to have a better story next time. Well worth the download time.

Updated review: The old and original comedy talk/sketch show from the legendary \'Fresh from the Oven Studios\' team. It works very well and the sketches and stuff are really quite good. The interviews with guest stars is perhaps a bit too serious at times (for a 3dmm movie), though Brad assures me that he will avoid this in future episodes. The is definitely a recommended download - be sure to check out the rest of the episodes. Many other 3dmm directors have since had a go at their own 3dmm talk shows. 3dmm Mole, 3dmm Evil and 3dmm United to name a few.

Baked Goods 2
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: March 2001
Preview The second in this golden oldie series. Brad's constant bitching throughout this episode about how he got so little feedback on the first installment was actually done in a very funny way. It's a bit dull and slow at the start, and Jeff's top 10 movie critiquing is just that - a straight top 10 list with no laughs, but those are the only flaws/bores. I think this episode benefited alot from Brad having to do the larger portion of it himself rather than using people's sent in bits. I remember when this was released, people were horrified by the download size of this movie. Heh, how times change. A compulsory download. Better than the first one in my opinion.

Baked Goods 2.5
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: April 2001
Preview A shorter offering from Brossy and the crew this time round, however, it's quite probably the best yet. It's fast paced, loud, and above all funny. It's quite refreshing to see genuinely hilarious comedy in 3dmm - especially and oldie. Highly recommended.

Baked Goods 3
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: October 2001
Preview The third in the 'Baked Goods' series from the Aussie team (well actually it's the fourth baked goods movie). It's not wonderful, I have to be honest, but it is good. Some of the skits actually really let it down though, and in general the pace is just far too slow. However, there are some nice fast punchy skits in there and they work well, but most of the stuff is just 'ok'. My favourite bit has to be the "Mary Jane and Bud" skit which was made hilarious by the excellent voice acting by whoever played the black guy. Anyway, a solid movie. Baked Goods fans should get this. Not as good as 2.5, but you'll enjoy it. Lots.

Baked Goods: Unseen Collection
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: June 2005
Preview Brad Ross is known as the creator of many films. Some great, some bad. Even so, his "Baked Goods" movies are one of the major factors that have made Brad such a popular director. But in making movies, some things just don't make it or are cut from the final film before its release. This special collection released by Brad Ross himself is filled with never before seen clips from his Baked Goods movies. The collection itself contains an unfinished version of the special Baked Good's/Shit Movie Showcase crossover, unused skits, sounds, and other little tidbits. All of these make the collection a mixed bag, some of the content is good, while others are bad. However, there is a high chance you may find something you may enjoy. This collection like I said is a mixed bag, but if you want to take a behind to scenes look at what happened to the things that never officially became a part of the "Baked Goods" movies, I suggest you take a look. Brad Ross' Unfinished Clips
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: May 2005
Preview This is am impressive collection of unfinished clips from Brad Ross. There is very little structure to it. Rather, it is a sporadic assortment of clips ranging from impressive to unbelievably lame. It's hard to speak for individual shorts themselves, since the archive contains 57 clips in it. If you're looking for off the wall humour, look no further than this collection. Be warned: it does take awhile to go through all of them. The collection would have been better served if Ross had just imported all of them into one movie, making it easier to watch. Review by Andrew Salter.

Brad Ross' Unfinished Clips #2
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: May 2005
Preview The superior of Brad Ross' collections, Clips 2 shows promising growth from Ross since his earlier work. This collection of clips ranges covers some of Ross' earlier and current projects, some more promising than the other. The most entertaining of these clips is the clip from Frogman, which shows the most growth from the earlier clips from this collection. This clip set is presented in a single movie, making watching them all the way through a breeze. Each is preceeded by an introduction to the next clip, which serves as a sort of timetable through Ross' growth in the program. As far as visuals go, Ross has yet to adopt any of the expansion packs or v3DMM, so the visuals themself can be dated looking. However, this only leads for one to anticipate Ross' adoption of the expansions to see what he can accomplish now. The sound is very mixed. Some clips have entertaining dialog, though Ross seems to be cursed with a muffled microphone. Another problem with the sound is the extensive and frustrating use of loud rock music in nearly all of his clips. Ross needs to diversify his soundtracks, as too many times, the rock music caused me to restart a scene so I could hear the dialog. Ross' dialogue is entertaining too, so it's extra frustrating to not be able to hear it. Overall, this is a much more worthwhile download than the first collection, simply due to the fact that it's one file and the clips are much better this time. This collection shows off some promising growth and some interesting projects. Ross' release of these unfinished clips leads us to further anticipate his next projects. Review by Andrew Salter.

Campout Clips
Directed by: Brad Ross

Preview Two clips about... something, I'm not sure what. Either way there is an apparent lack of story or explanation as to what is going - except dogs being roasted, a gay romp through a field of flowers, and a bunch of other weird stuff. The animation in these clips is pretty good, but that still doesn't save these clips from their own weird stupidness. Review by Jonny Anson.

Chrisco
Directed by: Bryn Doherty
Released: January 2001
Preview The animation (like the camera movement) and scenes are very good. It's just a funny commercial. Outtakes are lame though. The sounds establish the domestic setting so they're effective. Funny stuff; like the voice of the granny and the mothers. There's no music because this is a commercial relying on voices for comedy. A great duet from Bryn and his brother.

Cops
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: December 1999
Preview One of Brad Ross' first films which features a squad of police officers running around, shooting bad guys, and getting shot at... which is pretty much what this film is all about. That and some evil Hindu. The film's basic style includes old animation techniques, and has default scenery being used in just about every part of the film - in fact, the only custom scenery I saw was a "jail cell" with a black background! On a side note, I did find the theme song a bit funky, but even so, the film is pretty bad overall. But if you want to see Brad Ross' 3dmm-roots, you might want to give this film a watch; I mean it's not a crime to do so. Review by Jonny Anson.

Deep Under: Community Chain Movie
Directed by: BR, others
Released: December 2001
Preview This was pretty cool. I don't think I've seen a chain movie so well put together. Despite having been made by at least 6 different people, the movie still succeeds to be a really good, understandable watch. Often with chain movies, the general focus of the plot is lost somewhere along the way as everyone ends up looking at the story in a slightly different perspective. The scenery is good, perhaps a bit average at times. It's the same case with the animation and voice acting. Overall this is a fine example of how to do a chain movie - something that could be great inspiration for others in the future.

Released: July 2000
Preview An old film from Brad Ross here which shows that even though you can gloat about not stepping in dog poo, it's proving you didn't that makes things a bit crazy. Although the film's looks are pretty basic, it's the way the movie turned out that made me laugh. So this just goes to show that even though the film itself might look pretty bad, it's one of those of films that really makes you laugh at sheer stupidity. Review by Jonny Anson.

Explosion Teaser
Directed by: Tom Braithwaite
Released: January 2003
Preview A crazy teaser for Toms upcoming PAM movie, and when I say crazy, I mean crazy. This teaser is non-stop, fast paced, hectic action. You may have seen a couple of scenes from this movie in the 'Animation Gallery' on the Bulletin Board. Being a PAM style movie, I doubt there will be any chance of a decent story in the cards, but the nice fluid animation and fast pace will hopefully make such a factor redundant. Tom very kindly apologised for the selection of music accompanying the teaser at the beginning, but I thought it worked extremely well with the on-screen action.

Fast Chain Movie
Directed by: Adrian Pikios, Brad Ross, Will Maltby
Released: December 2002
Preview Maltby came up with the idea of a 'fast chain moive' when bored one day many moons ago. The idea is just the same as a normal chain movie passed around directors, but done in the space of a few hours. Maltby got Brad and Adrian interested over ICQ. Each director had just 5 mins to do whatever we could (however crap) and then pass it on to the next person. For the larger part it works very well, it isn't until Adrian's part that things start to change. It is obvious that Adrian took far longer than was allowed for his part. It's funny to watch though and there is the patented 'Maltby randomness' feel to it all. It's just a fun bit of viewing. I remember there also being talk about this being 'polished' up and given a proper release, but for whatever reasons, it never happened. Review by Will Cheyney.

Fight, The
Directed by: Brad Ross, Guy Collins
Released: November 2001
Preview 'The Fight' is a new compilation movie between two great directors - Brad Ross and Guy Collins. Unsurprisingly, it is superbly well done! The film works by each of the directors taking turns in animating a fight between the themselves, coming up with extremely creative ways of dying and even more imaginative ways of coming back to life in the process. Throughout, the movie is fastly paced, fluid and well animated - and thoroughly entertaining. One of my favorite ever 3dmm movies. A highly recommended download.

Fight, The [2.37 MB]
Genetisis, The
Directed by: Aaron Brennan
Released: November 2000
Preview Another very good effort from someone new to the 3dmm scene, this tells the story of a genetist who develops a powerful serum and sets off a chain of events which leads to the serum being consumed by a little baby who then finds he has superhuman powers. Of course, the bad guys come after him. For work by a newbie, the exclusive use of handmade scenes is good and Aaron uses some interesting camera angles such as a bird's eye view as someone falls - I also like when you see through the baby's eyes as he moves through the air towards the baddies in a flying kick with the leg out in front and all. The appearances of BANG , THUMP and the like with the sound effects are hilarious and reminded me of the old Batman television show and gave it a rather comic feel. Now every newbie work has an area where it lets down the movie as a whole: in this case, it is the inclusion of MIDIs. I hate them. Often they make the dialogue hard to hear and even on a 16-bit soundcard, they sound very cheesy. For Aaron, I turned them some down so the dialogue could be heard. But hopefully Aaron will use WAVs in the future for his music. Still, this is the one weakness of the movie. Yes, the plot isn't that flash but it does the job and Aaron shows much promise as a newbie. I'm looking forward to seeing more work from this director as he develops his skills.

Kikky and Squeak #3
Directed by: Bryn Doherty
Released: September 2000
Preview The third movie in the ongoing cartoon series and this time it is set at The Backlot offices. This storyline could have been more developed. As it is, this only provides a fairly shallow setting and excuse for the rat to kill the cat again. The ITNOC gag is kind of funny but Bryn needs to make a decision; he should either make each episode ultra-short like in Itchy and Scratchy, or have an actual plot; at the moment, he's trying to do both but not succeeding in either. Something to think about for K&S #4.

Mad - Episode 1
Directed by: Martyn Breed
Released: November 2000
Preview Crazy crazy stuff. Indeed, you may describe it as 'Mad'. I'm not sure whether it is molded on MAD Magazine but features a bunch of silly things not to do under any circumstances. Animation is simple stuff and it's not a laugh riot of a movie. But if you want a couple of little chuckles perhaps, this movie fits the bill. The MIDIs weren't too obtrusive either but WAV music would have lifted it as would some more voices. Future episodes should hopefully be more entertaining.

Preview Oh ye classic Magic. A short and highly eventful tale of Australian accents, dwarves and magical beings of all shape, size and stature. It's hardly a powerful tale of the planet's essence and how to control it, but it's definitely some funny tosh indeed. Mr. Cool
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: February 1999
Preview This film is pretty much about a guy named "Mr. Cool" who goes about killing aliens along with his sidekick robot who can change into a baby. The animation is pretty bad, there's no real story, a major usage of default scenery and badly created custom scenery - in fact, there's no end to what contributes to this films poor overall rating. All in all, there isn't really anything "cool" about this movie. Review by Jonny Anson.

Preview This director has a lot of potential. He/she has composed this second part of Pokemon Blue fantastically but you NEED voices! Ask for actors at the 3DMM Newbie Bulletin Board or the other main Bulletin Board. Other than that, Pokemon Blue Act 2 is an excellent attempt at Pokemon in 3dmm. Brent has done a sweet job. Released: August 2003
Preview A movie which is actually a game. Sounds interesting, but sadly it's not really anything more than a movie with multiple endings - at least I couldn't find any other 'game' aspects. Visually, the scenery is pretty outdated. There are a few shots where Ramza actually did some nice work but overall the scenery is pretty n00bish. The animations were generally poor as well. I found the chase scene near the end plain stupid. The only redeeming feature is the movies music. The soundtrack is good. We all know that Ramza has a very large music library to choose from, so the chosen music works well with the on-screen-happenings. That's pretty much all I can say. A nice idea, but for me it failed to entertain.

Return
Directed by: Brad Ross
Released: June 2005
Preview Brad Ross has returned and brought us a new movie about his return to the community. It's a PAM, and it shows that dispite the fact that Brad has been out of the '3dmm-loop' for so long, he is still a brilliant animator! I think it would be interesting to see what Brad could do with the expansion packs as this is very much 'old skool 3dmm' orientated. Even though he doesn't make use of any of the new expansions he is still doing fine without them - I must admit there is something rather endearing about the old look now anyway. The scenery was pretty simple, but adequate for what was happening, and Brad did make this in a few days so I can't really complain. The best thing about this movie was definitely the animations; the lightsaber fight near the end was brilliant. This is the perfect example of how something so short can still be really good, and with other projects from Brad on the way, this is a very exciting time. Welcome back Brad. Review by Ben Rice.
