Ever since Jason told me about this movie I've been interested in seeing it. He told me it was a mixture of horror, drama and fantasy; a combination of very different genres that you have to work hard at to ensure success. Jason has done a great job of pulling them together. Today's movies are often criticised because of the lack of good scenery and animation, and I know there are quite a few people in the community who had some doubts if Jason could pull such a movie off. After all, this is the first time we get to see a full length movie from him. Jason's done an extremely good job with the characters (who are nicely developed), the plot (a tad confusing yet interesting enough not to bore) as well as the scenery and animation. I particularly liked the movies soundtrack. The Silent Hill music featured throughout fits incredibly well, adding a sense of suspense, tension and fear. The voice acting was nicely convincing too.
So, to wrap this up. Jason is a cool director; I would like to see more of his work in the future. The Black Woods entertains, scares, though unfortunately at times, confuses. |
