Big Brother Trailer
Directed by: Richard Bevis
Released: May 2005
Preview A well put together trailer here. The action appears to be more slapstick based humor, and while it works for short purposes, it remains to be seen how it can be carried out over the course of a whole movie. The action is fairly smooth, though there are occasional glitches where the character will suddenly move violently in a different direction, but not enough to detract from the experience. Scenery is also well constructed, though there was an abundance of default textures, and, while all right themselves, some areas would benefit from expansion textures to give the scenery a little lift. As far as trailers go, this one provides character introduction, though not very much of it. It

Preview I am going to say exactly what I said in Richard's 'Dark Forest Trailer' review. "The hard thing when reviewing a movie is to analyse it in such a way that it draws together constructive criticism so that it doesn't scare and discourage a promising director. I just thought I'd make this comment here before I get stuck in with the review. Now, the movie... Purely and simply, this movie has a long way to go. Richard has had a very good go at creating an atmospheric and involving horror flick. Despite the 'amatuer' feeling of the trailer, I thought that the overall feeling of 'darkness' was great - something that's not easy to 'fake'. The scenery is fairly basic and the animation is at best, jumpy. The character movements are pretty much sorted, but as soon as any moving camera work or 'panning' was attempted, everything just fell flat on it's face. Sound wise, this movie is a hard one to fault. I thought that the choice of music fitted in very well with the apparent 'horror' theme of the title. Even the voicing was very well done. Everything was actually in the right place, the director just needs a bit more practice and direction." Yep. My feelings towards this movie are precisely the same. It's not very good, but it isn't a total abomination. Scenery is simple, but adequate, and the plot was fairly cliche. Don't loose your motivation Richard, I'm not here to put you off. Take what I'm saying on-board and use it to your advantage! Review by Will Cheyney.

Upcoming Project Trailers
Directed by: Richard Bevis
Released: August 2005
Preview This is a collection of three trailers originally intended to be released separately but especially compiled for the 2005 Summer Film Festival. There are trailers for 'The Eremite' (an eremite is a Christian hermit/recluse for those who don't know), 'Garden Gnomes' and 'Kathy'. All three appeared to be of the horror/dark genre and were generally quite entertaining, albeit a little unoriginal. Every movie appeared to be a take on either an existing movie or book. All of the trailers play on the typical Hollywood movie trailer theme, with dramatic music, quick cuts and deep, droning narration. The voice acting wasn't quite right and I recommend Richard hires community voice talents when it comes to actually finishing the movie. All three of the trailers were put together surprisingly well; they were short and to the point, something where many trailers flounder. A couple of the sound effects used were a little unnecessary, particularly the screaming that was repeated ad nauseam in 'Garden Gnomes'. There was a point in the 'Kathy' trailer also where the dialogue was KO'd by the overpowering soundtrack. The animation was overall very average, ranging from 'pretty good' to 'very shaky'. I think Richard just needs a little more practice; perhaps he should have a look at 3dmmAP as well. With these three movies in the pipeline, as well as his Big Brother series set to be unleashed soon, Richard looks like he has his work cut out for him for the foreseeable future. I just hope he doesn't make the classic mistake of taking too much onboard and failing to deliver. Review by Will Cheyney.
